Same. The main quest is to go to monastery. I hired the guard in the guild and went to monastery, but there is nothing interesting there yet. No actions from guardian (I expected a lot from him), I had only random encounters and my guardian left after arriving to monastery. Should I stick in first town instead? But nothing in story suggests that.
I'm usually trying to follow the story, taking side quests where and when it makes sense, not just search for cg's. And seems it doesn't work this way with this game, or I miss something?

Edit: Alicia should have a certain low amount of rationality iirc

Also, encountered a major bug.
Apparently if you lose to the Hypnotist in the outskirts of the capital, they will steal your ring
You can attempt to buy back the ring in the Wasteland town (with the NPC to the left of the Arena), but if u do, almost all NPCs including monsters will stop moving, and u can no longer interact with them.
I do not know how to fix this yet...
